The Universal 3-D Sensor is a very precise and versatile measuring instrument
for milling and erosion machines (insulated sensor insert). It is clamped
into the milling spindle or the electrode head and enables an exact positioning
of the spindle axis on the edges of the workpiece or jig, allowing workpiece
zeros to be set and length measured quickly and easily. You may approach in
any direction (X-, Y- Z-axis). The dial gauge always deflects to the same
direction and indicates the distance between spindle axis and workpiece edge.
As soon as the gauge indicates zero, the spindle axis is precisely on the
workpiece edge on the first attempt, no trials, no calculating, and no problem
with positive or negative signs. Extra costs are reduced, increasing productivity
and decreasing man hours.
